The Viking delivers yet another fantastically creative piece of alternative rock that confidently stands on its own without the need to conform to any particular sound or style, resulting in a track that is defined purely by its own sense of musical adventure. I've reviewed a previous track by Michael and his music always proves to be both fascinating and undeniably inventive. From the way he confidently blends genres together to the staggeringly mature sense of melody each and every one of his tracks adopts, listeners are never short of intrigue when listening to one of his tracks and I'm glad to say "Heard It All Before" follows suit brilliantly. Opening with a beautiful lead guitar harmony part that's backed by an alternative rock-styled drum and rhythm guitar combo, "Heard It All Before" quickly draws you in, ensuring you're in for a memorable listening experience that's replete with prog-like musical avenues, funky interludes, atmosphere inducing string textures, and Michael's engaging lyrical themes.
